This year's (2025) Qualifying Tournament will see eight teams split into two groups to compete for the final four spots in the 2026 Qualifying Tournament. Taipei Dome, as the home of the Asian Championship, will host Taiwan, Spain, South Africa and Nicaragua in a hotly contested match.

2025 WBC World Baseball Classic Qualifying Tournament Rules and Regulations
The 2025 WBC Qualifying Tournament will feature some of the best baseball teams and players in the world, and will be designed to be a very exciting tournament, so here are the full rules:
- Single Cycle System
Each group of 4 teams will play a single round-robin tournament where all teams will play each other once. The 1st ranked team advances directly to the 2026 Main Round. - Additional Competition Mechanism
The 2nd and 3rd ranked teams in each division will play a play-off match, with the winner taking the last place in the division. - Advancement
With two teams from each group advancing to the main event, a total of four qualifying teams will compete with the top 16 teams from the 2023 Classic for the World Championship.

WBC Qualifying Tournament Chinese Team's 28-man roster
The CBSA baseball team is ready for the 2025 World Baseball Classic Qualifying Tournament and announced on Saturday, Feb. 15, the roster of the 28-player team, which will be finalized on Feb. 19th.
The team consists of 15 pitchers, three catchers, six infielders and four outfielders, including six travelers.
Lam Ka Ching and Cheng Chung Chit were not selected due to the participation of Major League Baseball Spring Training. Besides, Jerry, Liu Ki-Hung, Chen Zi-Hao, Lin Chi-En, Chen Shi-Peng, Huang Qun, Lin Sheng-En, and Jerry were also not included in the final list. However, Mr. Chen Yuhong of TKL Eagles was selected to join the team due to his excellent performance in the exchange game.
Team China will open the tournament on February 21 against Spain in the first match of the tournament!
